This is the results of a survey conducted by Workability Fund for Service Vouchers. In combination with the survey, the fund launched the campaign 'Ishowrespect' today. With this they want to give consumers tips to guarantee a safe working environment for household workers.

Better safe than sorry

Work accidents are often due to insufficient precautions, according to figures from the Federal Agency for Occupational Risks for 2019. Small things can make a big difference. For example, you can keep pets away from the rooms where domestic helpers are working. Proper maintenance of your electrical appliances or tidying up the room beforehand can also increase safety (also hygienic and ergonomic).

Take care of your domestic worker

With various advertisements and videos, the campaign of the Workability Fund calls on Service Vouchers to show respect for domestic workers. "Anyone who takes care of your home also deserves your care", says Van de Veire. "Talk to each other about safety, especially in times of corona. If the domestic worker feels comfortable and safe at the customers' home, he or she will be more motivated and efficient."
